It's Spring in the SF Bay area, and it's been lovely. Last weekend Ken and I celebrated my birthday month with a Saturday visit to The City. We brunched at Millers East Coast Deli, visited the Cable Car Museum, walked to Pier 41, and then back to the Ferry Building. San Francisco Bay was full of sailboats.
Stitches West was a month ago, and I've not posted photos of the goodies purchased there. I went with a list this time - there were a number of specific items on the list, not including yarn. A knitting bag, a loom, a special autographed book - these were things besides yarn that I really wanted from Stitches West, and I got them!
Here's proof of yarn shopping on Friday (we went back again on Sunday and bought things we "forgot" about earlier). Also, there is proof that Color Affection was completed, and worn!
The loom photos will come later - it had to be shipped and has just arrived. It's mostly put together, but not warped yet.
Here's the bag I chose:
This is the Namaste Laguna bag in Canary Yellow, although I'd call it almost a lime yellow. It's very bright, and hold my knitting, Nook, magazine, breakfast - whatever has to be taken to work every day. Much lighter weight than any of my other bags, it's also man-made material that doesn't get ruined when something spills. I love it for many reasons, not the least of which is the color!
And here's the book:
And here's the autograph:
Annie and I have been on lists together for at least 25 years, maybe longer! We've emailed and posted, but we'd never met in person until that Friday, and it was so much fun to spend just a few minutes with her.
I did buy rather a lot of yarn - this time, however, I have plans for most of it. I'm finished a project now, and then will be diving face first into the new yarn, and for the first time ever I hope to knit most of the before next Stitches.
